JACASZEK / PODPORA / KOHYT (PL)
JACASZEK/PODPORA/KOHYT is a joint project of Gdańsk artists – Michał JACASZEK [ http://jacaszek.com/ ] and the duo PODPORA/KOHYT [ http://podporakohyt.com/ ] – created out of the need to play together, to combine the specific sounds of the three of them. The starting point was the idea to use archival recordings of the interiors of Gdansk churches made by Michał Jacaszek. Fragments of unique recordings blended into Jacaszek’s subtle electronic layers meet structures developed by Katarzyna Podpora and Max Kohyta, woven from unobvious sounds of instruments, objects, small contact recordings, tape manipulation and a pinch of electronics. The lasting effect of the project will be the album JACASZEK/PODPORA/KOHYT released by Bocian Records, which premiere is planned for the end of 2020.
